Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in Montpellier for adults, couples, teenagers and children

“Happiness is when

what you think, what you say

and what you do are in harmony.”

Mahatma Gandhi

My Journey

I was born on the Croatian coast in 1979, I grew up in The Netherlands. Although technically, Croatian is my mother tongue, my education has always been in English and so English is definitely the language I feel most confortable in. The majority of clients are anglophone internationals like myself.

I started my study of psychology during my Bachelor of Arts which I obtained with double first honours at Durham University, UK My first job was as an English teacher in Japan for 4 years and after that, I settled in Montpellier as a translator in 2006.

I chose to pursue my studies of psychotherapy by completing a M.A. and a one-year post-master degree in the department of psychoanalysis of Montpellier University.

I hence have the right to carry the title of “psychothérapeute” (psychotherapist), which is overseen by the Health Authority Board (Agence Régionale de Santé) and protected by French law since 2010. I have been receiving patients privately since 2011 and I am to this day under permanent supervision, in order to ensure that my attitude towards my patients is always one of kindness, respect and ethics.

Always on the lookout for the best therapeutic tools to help my patients reach their full potential, I underwent training in eye-movement therapy (EMDR), mindfulness, and CBT (cognitive-behavioural therapies). I am a graduate of the Hypnotherapy Academy of America , the biggest school of hypnosis in the world, with more than 600 hours of training, and I am a certified practitioner of clinical hypnosis and medical hypnosis.

At the moment I am following a masterclass with the ALI (International Lacanian Association) and I am also a guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota Study Abroad Program in Montpellier. The courses I teach are Child and Developmental Psychology, and Adolescent Psychology. I have also been very active in supervising and training junior therapists.

I practice what is called “ integrative psychotherapy ”; i.e. I adapt my tools to each patient and their individual complaint. Although I enjoy working with an extremely wide range of cases, if I had to choose a specialization it would be anything related to anxiety, and also relationship problems. I treat children, adolescents, adults and couples.
